HighCD's Robot Base (VRChat Avatar)

26 ratings

This avatar originally started as a remake of my Robot Bounty Hunter, but evolved into something I wanted to be its own thing. This store page mainly sells the my robot base, but also you can pay more to get an entire outfit for it inspired by the original Robot Bounty Hunter in a new, refreshing way!

PLEASE READ THIS!

For right now, please only upload on the 2019 version of Unity and not 2022. The 2022 version will currently break the cape's cloth component. If this is fixed, it will break on 2019 probably, so the best I can do for now is leave it as is and wait for the majority of people to move to 2022 or 2019 is deprecated. If you do not care about the cape or only own the body without the clothing, this does not matter.

Base Features:

  • Robotic body with intricately baked normals.
  • Hue shift for body emission color.
  • Voice based parameter glow. The louder the input in your mic, the brighter the body emission glows.
  • Material menu that allows you to:
    • Turn on and off the outline
    • Play with minimum brightness, allowing you to make the avatar look brighter or darker depending on the world you are in.
  • 4 gestures
  • Outline bump audiolink
  • Body Substance Painter file

Robot Bounty Hunter V2 Features:

  • Everything the Base version has and additionally...
  • An entire outfit inspired by my original Robot Bounty Hunter
  • Cape that uses an experimental cloth system instead of physbones, resulting in much more realistic looking cloth deformation.
    • This cape is experimental and doesn't always work perfectly, but there are some settings in the menus for fixing it if it breaks.
    • Cape has a two axis puppet that allows you to "blow wind" on the cape, blowing it in the direction you choose.
    • The cape can also be turned off if it annoys you.
    • Unless VRChat does something (doubtful), the cape does not scale correctly with in-game avatar scaling. You could probably scale up or down a little bit and it'd be fine, but too big or small and it might break it.
      • You can still scale it in unity and it should work fine.
  • 3 layered audiolink with customizable settings and colors on the clothing.
    • Individual layers can also just be made flat emission layers in the menu
  • Audiolink spectrum bars on the cape.
  • Clothing, cape, and hat separately toggleable.
  • Clothing Substance Painter file.

How to set up:

  • If you haven't already, follow this guide to set up your SDK.
  • Create a new unity project.
  • Import the VRChat SDK (Use the VCC tool for most optimal results)
  • Import the free version of Poiyomi included in the download.
  • Import the files from the provided unity asset file, open the "Robot Base" folder, then open the "Scene" folder and open the scene file.
  • Upload ready.

Performance:

This is the Robot Bounty Hunter V2 stats, Base version is also very poor due to poly count.

Notes:

This avatar doesn't come with any weapons for the holsters, but I can definitely recommend one of the guns from Liindy since they make very high quality, interactable stuff, probably much better than I could!

When the avatar is first loaded, it may cause the cape to freak out and clip through you, but all you need to do to fix it is toggle it on and off (via the clothing menu or the cape menu).
